Bio:

Jun Luo teaches and researches intercultural communication at the International College of Zhejiang Wanli University, Ningbo, China. 

She holds a MA in English Education from Zhejiang Normal University. Her main interests are intercultural communication and 

Intercultural education in Higher education. She has been teaching courses on Intercultural Communicative Competence Development 

and International Volunteering Practice in International College, with the added aim of intercultural development of students. She 

has collaborated in various provincial projects and has published several papers on these themes. She is also familiar with the 

educational systems and practices in higher institutions in China, and her administrative experience led her to specialize in Student 

Affairs.

Name: Hongbo(Jenny)  Dong

Bio:

Dr Jenny Dong obtained an Ed.D (doctorate in education) degree in Durham University, UK, in 2014. The focus of her doctoral project 

was to explore the Chinese staff’s intercultural experiences with their culturally different colleagues at UNNC. Afterwards, she opened 

two courses at Zhejiang Wanli University on Intercultural Communication and Intercultural Ability Training, respectively for 

international students and for Chinese students in the Innovation College. She is familiar with the educational systems and practices 

in higher institutions in both China and UK, and has wide expertise in Student Affairs. Jenny Dong has received several honorary titles 

at municipal and provincial levels, and has published several articles in the Chinese media on topics of education and student management.

Bio:

Lemin Shen is an associate professor and the vice dean in the Faculty of Foreign Languages College, Zhejiang Wanli University(ZWU). She holds 

an MA degree in intercultural communication and is currently pursuing an Ed.D degree at the University of Nottingham, Ningbo, China. She has 

focused in her research on Intercultural Communication and second language teaching and learning. She has published academic papers both in 

domestic and international journals. She has completed more than 12 funded research projects, such as “A Study of the Construction and 

Application of the WeChat-based Translation Teaching Model”(2015-2016), funded by Social Science Association of Zhejiang Province, China, 

and “A Research on MOODLE’s Cultivation of Cross-cultural Competence in English Major”(2016-2018) funded by Bureau of Education, 

Zhejiang Province, China. She teaches intercultural communication for both Chinese and international students at ZWU, and has 

continuously received very high scores in past 9 years in the anonymous student surveys of teaching evaluations.

Name: Yibo  Li

Bio:

Yibo Li teaches courses of A Brief Introduction to English-Speaking Countries and American Society and Culture at the Foreign Language 

College, Zhejiang Wanli University, Zhejiang, China. She holds a master’s degree in English from Shanghai International Studies University, 

China. In recent years, she has been a visiting scholar to in Slovak (Pan-European University). Her position as director of the English 

Department has provided her with abundant opportunities to take part in a myriad of cross-cultural projects and thus she has been 

equipped with rich experience in this field. Her research interests include cross-cultural communication, EFL writing, second language 

teaching and learning.
