Bio:

Claudia Borghetti is Research Fellow in Language Learning and Teaching at the Department of Modern Languages, Literature and 

Cultures, University of Bologna, Italy. She holds an MA in language and intercultural learning through telecollaboration from the 

University of Bologna, and a PhD in Foreign Language Teaching from the National University of Ireland, Galway.From 2012 to 2015, 

Claudia was the project manager of the IEREST Project (Intercultural Education Resources for Erasmus Students and their Teachers

LLP 2007-2012, http://ierest-project.eu/).At the moment, she is member of the Management Committee of the COST Action SAREP 

(Study abroad research in European perspective, http://www.cost.eu/COST_Actions/ca/CA15130). She also participated in the Erasmus+

project on multilingualism and interculturality ATIAH (Approaches and tools for innovative internationalisation at home

https://research.ncl.ac.uk/atiah/  ).Claudia’s main research interests are intercultural language learning and teaching, teaching Italian as 

a foreign/second language, language socialisation abroad, language learning and teaching in a sociocultural perspective, and (academic) writing.

Name: Sara Amadasi

Bio:

Sara Amadasi received her PhD in social sciences from the University of Padova (Italy). Her research interests concern children with 

a migrant background and involved in transnational journeys, and children and youth participation in intercultural communication 

processes. She has published international papers on these topics and she is currently co-writing a book on small culture formation 

and intercultural communication (2019, with A. Holliday). She has collaborated and conducted seminars in several universities in Italy 

and abroad, such as Università degli studi di Modena e Reggio Emilia (Italy), Canterbury Christ Church University (UK) and Evangelishe 

Hochshule Darmstadt (Germany).

Name: Ana Beaven

Bio:

Ana Beaven teaches English as a Foreign Language at the University of Bologna Language Centre.

She has participated in various international projects (WebCEF, CEFcult, SAREP) and was the coordinator of the IEREST project 

(Intercultural Education Resources for Erasmus Students and their Teachers). Her main areas of interest are the use of technology 

in language learning and teaching, open educational resources and practices, and intercultural education.She holds a PhD in Applied

Linguistics from the University of Warwick (UK).
